Frequently Asked Questions
I've just had new carpet installed. Can I have my off cuts made into mats?
Absolutely - just follow the instructions on the ‘Our Process’ page.
I've had carpet pieces stored for some time. Can I have them made into mats?
Yes – as long as the carpet hasn’t been used you can! - just follow the instructions on the ‘Our Process’ page
Are there any size limitations?
Yes – because of Chris’ disability the largest piece of carpet we can manage is 2 metres by 2 metres. This includes pieces that need to be cut down. If you have a piece of carpet larger than this that you want made into smaller mats you will need to reduce the overall size before you drop your carpet off. Hallway runners can be longer than 2 metres but must be no more than 1 metre wide.
Do you make custom shaped mats?
Unfortunately our machines don’t allow us to overlock ‘inside angles’ so unusual shapes are not something we can achieve a quality outcome on. We can do square, rectangle, oval, round and half circle shapes.
How do you work out the cost?
Cost will depend on the size of your mat. We charge per metre of overlocking. Joins will attract an additional fee per join. A minimum charge does apply.
What payment options do you offer?
We accept cash and direct deposit into our bank account.
What is your turnaround time?
Our usual turnaround time is one to two weeks.
Do you overlock used carpet?
Unfortunately we are not able to overlock used carpet as it contains harmful particles that can seriously damage our equipment.
Do you overlock or repair Persian style rugs or rubber backed carpet?
Unfortunately we are not able to overlock these types of rugs/carpets as they do not run through the machine well or they are prone to fray and fall apart.
Do you provide a pick and drop off service?
This is not a service we provide due to a disability.
